PERSONAL INTERESTS
I am a passionate mountaineer and a trail runner. Currently a product tester for trail-running shoes for NIKE. I have traveled and climbed around the most important mountain ranges (Andes, Alps, Himalayas, Rockies, and Mexican volcanoes.) I have participated in many trail-running races, and have placed among the top five or top ten in many of them. I have also run close to twenty marathons and ultra marathons up to a 100 Mile race, where I placed 3rd. I am a social and environmental activist, and I am also very attracted to Tibetan Buddhism and the cultures that practice it, such as Tibetans and Sherpa people from Nepal.

About MeI was born and raised in Mexico City in a middle class society, right on the edge between the somewhat wealthy neighborhoods and the not so privileged ones; thus I had friends from both ends. I studied photography in the best private school of photography in Mexico at the time (Escuela Activa de Fotografia) At a young age I decided that I did not want to stay all my life in the city; however, life was not easy, and my dream did not consolidate until I was 25, when a cousin of mine sold me a cheap ticket to go to Europe. Once in "The Old Continent" I ripped my return ticket and found a way to survive. I had to learn a new language and meet people. I did have some contacts of european friends or their relatives, and many names come to my mind when I want to appreciate my guardian angels at that time. From Europe I was able to travel to Asia a few times. Nepal is still my favorite place of all, and part of my life and heart remains in Ticino, the beautiful Italian part of Switzerland! |

Energy (and matter) cannot be created or destroyed, although it may be rearranged. (A. Lavoisier)The French Eighteenth century chemist , Antoine Lavoisier was right when he stated the law of Conservation of Matter/Energy, and although he did not intend to use it in other sense but purely to physics, it also makes sense when we apply it to the relationship between economics and the environment. We just need to look around and realize that some people have accumulated so much matter around themselves that have left billions with almost nothing. Part of my work is dedicated to create awareness of this subject matter, for it seems that many millions of people have yet to realize that their absurd way of consumption is leaving others with less and less all time.

The only way to achieve peace and true freedomIn a world full of fear and hatred, nothing is more important than to remain conscious that loving one-another is the only way to achieve peace and true freedom in this planet, and to save it from an imminent destruction. By loving one-another I mean loving not only our fellow humans, but also the animals, the plants, and the environment in which we live. We must respect the earth and all of its elements. War generates more war, and terrorism cannot be stopped with terrorism. |
