Curriculum Vitae (PDF)The only way to achieve peace and true freedomIn a world full of fear and hatred, nothing is more important than to remain conscious that loving one-another is the only way to achieve peace and true freedom in this planet, and to save it from an imminent destruction. By loving one-another I mean loving not only our fellow humans, but also the animals, the plants, and the environment in which we live. We must respect the earth and all of its elements. War generates more war, and terrorism cannot be stopped with terrorism. |

Artist StatementWith my art I want to create awareness of the conditions in which a vast portion of the world’s population lives in, while a minimal fraction of people maintains a deliberate consumerist lifestyle that is creating irreversible damage of the planet's environmental stability. By means multimedia I try to create a body of work that illustrates and criticizes this characteristic trend that modern society pursues, which often times we refer to as "the American dream." The planet is entering a stage of irreversible environmental disequilibrium produced by our human activities. Global warming and other atmospheric and geographic phenomena are proof of the human-induced damage. The law of Conservation of Matter, also known as the law of Energy Conservation, stated in the 17th century by the French chemist Antoine Lavoisier, stipulates that "matter cannot be created or destroyed, but can change its form." Applying this law out of the chemistry lab and onto the 'real' world, and watching how mass-communication media (and governments) --controlled by the major corporations-- shapes the moral values and aims of societies, we can find the answer to all of the social and environmental issues that we are facing in this first decade of the twenty-first century. By making a radical change in the way humans live and interact with the natural resources, and by embracing multicultural awareness and respect, we can restore the planet. In order to do so, a "green" perspective of politics and economy is necessary to be implemented immediately.

Energy (and matter) cannot be created or destroyed, although it may be rearranged. (A. Lavoisier)The French Eighteenth century chemist , Antoine Lavoisier was right when he stated the law of Conservation of Matter/Energy, and although he did not intend to use it in other sense but purely to physics, it also makes sense when we apply it to the relationship between economics and the environment. We just need to look around and realize that some people have accumulated so much matter around themselves that have left billions with almost nothing. Part of my work is dedicated to create awareness of this subject matter, for it seems that many millions of people have yet to realize that their absurd way of consumption is leaving others with less and less all time. |
Teaching Philosophy-My philosophy of life has been molded in the mountains. My teaching philosophy is based on this thought. Thus, although I believe I have so much to learn ahead of me, I also believe that I have so much to share, for I have been walking on this planet for over thirty years now. During this time I have lived within different cultures and I have seen many ends of the human spectrum. As a world citizen and as an environmental and social activist, I believe it is my responsibility with the planet and with future generations to pass whatever knowledge I have acquired to the younger ones and to others in general, for I myself am not exempt from learning from the younger ones at the same time.
