Terraviva Adventures is a family owned and family operated adventures tourism company, with partners in Peru, Mexico, and Nepal.

We started climbing since we were young teenagers, and later we joined a rescue team in Mexico (Socorro Alpino de Mexico). A few years later we joined one of the most successful mountaineering schools in Mexico to start doing expeditions overseas. During those years, international travelers and mountaineers would get a hold of either of these organizations to find young climbers who would guide them up the beautiful Mexican volcanoes.

In 1998, Alexandro, the president and owner of Terraviva Adventures, left Mexico to start traveling around the world. He lived in the italian part of Switzerland, where he met important climbers of the region. During those years in the land of the big beautiful cows and great chocolate bars, Alexandro got to climb some traditional alpine routes in the Swiss and the French alps.

In 1999 he packed up some clothing and gear and flew to Nepal for six months. Alone in the Himalayas, he did his first ascent of a 6,000 meter peak in winter through a "new" (not records were found) route on Imja Tse (Island Peak). He traveled extensively the Everest area as well as the Annapurnas area, where he spent over a month on the circuit of this massif. Along the road, he climbed other small peaks, and made an attempt on Hiunchuli Peak.

A year later, Alexandro was back in Nepal with a group of Swiss friends preparing for Everest the following year. During those two months they climbed Island Peak and Mera Peak, in the Everest area, and later they flew into Jomson, in the Annapurnas area to attempt a peak called Katung Kang, right on the south side of Thorong Lha, the highest pass along the circuit. However, they got caught in a minor avalanche and lost some gear, and that put an end to that expedition.

In 2002, Alexandro and his fianceè traveled back to Nepal for three more months taking with them some clients to do the trek to Everest Base Camp and to climb a "trekking" peak of over 6,000 mt., Lobuche East.

These days, Terraviva Adventures is based in Denver, Colorado, from where we organize private and intimate climbing trips to the Mexican volcanoes, Nepal, and soon we will start doing Peru and other exotic locations.
